What does acacia honey contain?
Among the many types of honey, each with its own specific properties, acacia honey is a general tonic that soothes coughs and is used to treat asthenia and neurosis.
Acacia honey contains vitamins B1, B2, B6, B12, enzymes, flavones, flavonoids, aromatic compounds, phytohormones, organic acids (lactic, oxalic, citric, malic), dextrin, nitrogen compounds.
It has a higher fructose content than other types of honey (41.7%) and contains 10% sucrose and maltose and 34.7% glucose, having pH 4. In total, acacia honey contains 435 substances.
Acacia honey is monofloral, which means that it has been harvested mostly from a single plant species – in this case from acacia.
